Research
The Bird Cove project, and broader archaeological research stretching to Plum Point and along Newfoundland’s Great Northern Peninsula, is an ongoing and active initiative involving local elders, community members, universities, and independent researchers.
Since 1997, 38 archaeological sites between Bird Cove and Plum Point have been surveyed or excavated, forming the basis for academic theses, published articles, government reports, public lectures and our community museum.
